Craftstravaganza IV!!!!

Can it really be true?  Has Moe Sew Co been around for 4 years?  I guess it must, since we have been to the St Paul Craftstravaganza for all of the years it has been around. 

Let's see.  First there was the hot one. 

Then there was the perfect one. 

Then there was the cold one. 

What will this year bring?  So far the weather forecasts have looked good.  I hope it holds! 

We have grown up with the Craftstravaganza.  It's our "home" show, even though we don't live in the Twin Cities, just because it was the first show we were ever in.  I get a little sentimental about it. 

This year we're not scrambling in preparation.  We've got it all covered.  I'd love to say it all cool, like we've got it covered cuz we're so down with this craft show thing, but the truth is, that show we had two weeks ago forced all the prep early.  So now we can hang back and just sorta enjoy the ride. 

So yea.  The St Paul Craftstravaganza is THIS Saturday, May 2, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St Paul.  If you're in the area, please come out to see us and all of the other fantabulous vendors. 

Finished French Knotting

I actually finished this about a week ago for the show the weekend before last, but I'm just now getting a chance to post it.  It took about three weeks to finish, and it is made up of 100% French knots done with three strands of floss.  I used various shades of blue, gray, black and white to create the abstract design.  The frame is a 6" hoop, so that should give you some idea of size.

I'm not sure why I decided to start making these abstracts.  I think it all comes down to my fascination with the way stitched floss can create such texture, even when the same stitch is used over and over again.  I was so interested in the way the backgrounds of some of my patches were turning out that I decided to make the "backgrounds" the focus of these abstracts.

I WILL be doing more of this sort of work, so expect to see more of these time-consuming puppies in the future.  (ADAM)
